Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 Offers New Features, Free Version Try It Out, Or Buy the Bundle Eric Grevstad
Mon 10/6/03 -- It debuted at the beginning of this year, but Adobe Systems' Adobe Photoshop Album digital photo organizer and optimizer has already been reborn -- as twins, with the newly updated, deluxe package joined by a trimmed-down edition that's free for the download.
Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 ($50) offers expanded options for organizing and locating photos. An enhanced Calendar View lets shutterbugs view images in a year, day, or month view, while Collections act as bins for specific sets of photos such as a vacation trip or birthday party. The program's simple tagging system lets users cross-reference collections in minutes.
One-click fixes and batch auto-fixes for multiple photos help adjust lighting, color, or blurry snapshots, while a new, one-click red-eye fix salvages even the most challenging flash portraits. An expanded set of professionally designed templates includes greeting cards, e-mails, calendars, bound photo albums, and slide shows with music and transition effects. TiVo owners with the video recorder's Home Media Option software can choose images for viewing on their TV sets.
Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition is a free download with tools for very basic organizing, fixing, and sharing of digital photos. The full version of Photoshop Album 2.0 is also available in a $130 bundle with Photoshop Elements 2.0 for sophisticated image editing, photo restoration, color correction, adding text, and other creative possibilities.
