Now the Germany- and Glendale, Calif.-based company has announced Nero 6 Ultra Edition, a suite that goes beyond CD and DVD creation to offer advanced video editing and authoring, DVD playback, backup, and features and functions never before seen in a CD/DVD recording package.
Shipping July 18 for $100 boxed or $70 downloaded ($50 upgrade), the Ultra Edition combines more powerful and reliable versions of Nero Burning ROM and Nero Express with a SmartStart project-based program launcher; InCD 4 packet-writing or rewritable disc access; NeroVision Express 2 to capture and edit videos or slide shows with music, menus, titles, transitions, special effects, and a DVD/MPEG-2 encoding plug-in; Nero Wave Editor 2 for fine-tuning audio files; and Nero SoundTrax and Cover Designer for professional-quality production of audio CDs and labels.
You also get the NeroMix combination playback and burning utility; Nero ShowTime for viewing DVDs and custom projects with Nero Digital MPEG-4 and high-efficiency AAC audio compatibility; the full-featured Nero BackItUp for full, incremental, and differential data backups; and the CD-DVD Speed, DriveSpeed, InfoTool, and ImageDrive hardware diagnostics and virtual CD-ROM drive utilities.
