Scopeware Vision Update Adds New Views, Filters To Info Organizer More Document Types, Batch Document Handling, On-the-Fly Annotation Eric Grevstad
Mon 6/9/03 -- The challenge of searching, finding, and using all the data stashed in your PC is never-ending, but version 1.3 of Scopeware Vision is brand new. The upgrade (free for existing users) adds more flexible searching and content management tools to the free-form information manager (reviewed by WinPlanet last April).
Scopeware Vision 1.3's new List View shows documents and e-mails in a tabular list display; hovering the mouse cursor over a title pops up a thumbnail and description. A new desktop query bar provides quick access to the search screen without having to launch the main Vision application, while a V-Note feature lets users add (type, paste, or drag and drop) new, instantly accessible and searchable content into existing data streams.
The upgrade also boosts program personalization with search screen skins and background bitmaps, as well as the ability to specify document filters to integrate additional, formerly unsupported file types and to select multiple documents for opening, printing, sending, or deleting. Scopeware Vision's price is unchanged at $30 for the Personal (desktop or notebook) and $80 for the Professional (both local and shared network drives) edition.
