Namo WebEditor 5.5 an HTML Heavyweight at a Light Price Upgrade Adds Vector-Based Web Graphics Eric Grevstad
Mon 3/24/03 -- Microsoft's FrontPage and Macromedia's Dreamweaver MX may be the best-known HTML authoring tools, but Namo Interactive says its WebEditor 5.5 matches up feature for feature at a more affordable price -- $99. WebEditor's built-in scripts, templates, elements, and design tools aim to help Webmasters design, deploy, and manage high-impact sites with minimum hassle.
The program's page-creation tools include full WYSIWYG editing (with underlying code always as close as a click of the HTML tab), automatic creation of table layouts, JavaScript actions and events, and a photo-album creator.
The new version includes WebCanvas 1.0, a vector-based Web graphic drawing tool for creating attractive, fast-downloading images and smart buttons. It permits in-browser preview of SVG files and export to SVG and other leading bitmap formats.
