Name a Browser, and Pop-Up Professional Supports It Out, Damned Pop-Ups -- From AOL, MSN, Opera, Mozilla ... Eric Grevstad
Mon 2/3/03 -- During its first week on the market, Panicware Inc. says, users e-mailed to ask whether the newest version of Pop-Up Stopper Professional could be enhanced to block pop-up and pop-under ads in browsers from Juno, NetZero, CompuServe, and Mozilla as well as Internet Explorer and Netscape. No sweat, the company replied -- Pop-Up Stopper Professional's patent-pending XA (Extensible Architecture) technology permits instant updates whenever new browsers or pop-up ad types are supported.
Currently, the $30 utility blocks pop-ups and -unders in all of the abovementioned browsers, plus AOL, MSN, Opera, Yahoo SBC, and WMConnect. The program also enhances privacy and fights identity theft by letting Web surfers clean their cache, cookie, and history files.
You can also configure Pop-Up Stopper Pro to play a sound or briefly change the mouse cursor when a pop-up is blocked. Panicware continues to offer a free, less configurable version of Pop-Up Stopper for IE and Netscape only.
