Developed by Genealogy.com, which offers buyers one month free access to its World Family Tree Collection online resource, Family Tree Maker offers powerful search tools and scores of trees and templates for displaying charts, reports, and photos, as well as sharing files in PDF format. An electronic scrapbook can include music, recorded voices, and favorite video clips as well as family photos.
The program's Date Calculator determines age and important dates, such as how old a family member was at his or her marriage or the birth of a child, while Family File Statistics offer facts such as the average lifespan within a family or the number of generations in a family tree. Enhanced editing capabilities let users crop, adjust color, and remove red-eye from family photos.
