MusicMatch Updates Jukebox with MP3Pro Support Helps Fans Track and Organize Music on PCs Eric Grevstad
Mon 6/24/02 -- Promising "unmatched digital music management options," MusicMatch Inc. has announced an upgrade to its popular MusicMatch Jukebox media player software. Version 7.2, priced at $20, is the first digital media player to integrate the new MP3Pro audio format, which the company says delivers the highest-quality reording and playback available today.
The next version of Thomson's MP3 format, MP3Pro creates files with superior sound quality that take significantly less disk or flash-memory space on a PC hard disk or handheld player. Jukebox 7.2 also offers automatic album cover art tagging, letting music fans add cover art to new MP3s as they're recorded from CD, with no need to search the Web for cover art images.
A new My WishList feature lets users bookmark MusicMatch Jukebox or Radio MX tracks as reminders to buy the single or album, while WatchFolders automatically add newly acquired music to the program's music library. Finally, MusicMatch Jukebox's CD Burner Plus feature has been upgraded with new check boxes for selecting tracks and the ability to tag custom CDs with text and data, not just audio.
