Adobe Updates GoLive Web Authoring Package
Version 6.0 Adds Workgroup Server, Dynamic and Wireless Content Support
Eric Grevstad

Mon 3/4/02 -- Adobe Systems has shipped an upgrade to its professional-class Web authoring tool. The company says Adobe GoLive 6.0 ($399, or $99 as an upgrade for registered users) offers the most advanced solution for creating, managing, and delivering personalized content for Web and wireless devices.

An included workgroup server lets teams collaborate on projects and manage their Web and multimedia assets. New dynamic content authoring capabilities and native support for ASP, JSP, and PHP helps designers configure a Web site for data-driven e-commerce transactions, while special wireless authoring tools give developers the ability to design and deploy wireless content directly from GoLive.

GoLive 6.0 integrates seamlessly with other Adobe design tools such as Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and LiveMotion, and offers XML support for repurposing print content to the Web. Other new Web development features include QuickTime 5.0 editing and SMIL support for RealNetworks' streaming media player.
