Act 2000 Makes Contact with Windows XP Update Offers Outlook/Outlook Express Calendar and Mail Sync Eric Grevstad
Mon 11/19/01 -- Contact and customer relationship management get an upgrade with Interact Commerce Corp.'s new version 5.0.4 of Act 2000 ($180), which makes the popular contact manager compatible with Microsoft Windows XP and Office XP.
Available at no cost to current Act 2000 users (though only available in English for the time being), the upgrade works with Windows XP's new security and file access protection features to let users access Outlook 2000 and Outlook 2002 calendar and e-mail information and Outlook Express 5 and 6 e-mail from within Act. Users can share their calendar information with non-Act users.
The program also integrates with Microsoft Word versions through 2002, producing sales letters, proposals, and other documents using Word via a simple switch from Act's own word processor to Microsoft's.
