Clickshare CEO Says E-books Might Fail E-books won't win out Byron Alley
According to CEO of Clickshare James Shaffer, E-books won't win out in the end.
Electronic books have been hailed as being poised to eclipse traditional paper books for a number of reasons, including ease of distribution. It's a lot simpler and quicker to download a new novel from the Internet than to travel to the local bookstore and buy it. New electronic devices for reading E-books are improving readability, reducing the discomfort of reading a book electronically, which constitutes one of the major disadvantages of the product category.
However, these improvements aren't enough, according to Shaffer. E-books need to evolve away from the static legacy of "tree books", and take advantage of the interactive, two-way nature of the electronic medium.
