Gates: Personal Web Bill Gates: A Personal Web Paul Jones
Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates said in his keynote speech that the next great thing for the Internet is a "Personal Web" that will let people shape the Internet to accommodate their specific needs.
"We are moving at an incredible pace," he said. "These innovations will make the Personal Web the best tool ever invented."
One example of how the Personal Web would work was demonstrated for a new car. A Personal Web-driven car would download a route, provide directions and calculate gas mileage. It would give directions to gas stations and make any necessary appointments automatically.
